Hospice Care

A comprehensive medical and social program for terminally ill patients and families provided either at home or in a facility.  The program emphasizes pain control, symptom management, and emotional support rather than life-sustaining treatment.  Eligibility for the Medicare Hospice Benefit is based upon a six-month life expectancy and prognosis.
