Palliative Care

Interdisciplinary team care provided to individuals who are chronically or terminally ill, aimed at improving quality of life, pain and symptom management, and communication between physicians and patients.  Palliative care is not based upon the patient’s life expectancy or prognosis and is available in most hospitals, nursing homes, certain home care agencies, and in hospices.
