Here is a listing of several websites that offer help in finding an elder law attorney
National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (www.naela.org). Members of this association specialize in dealing with legal issues affecting seniors and people with disabilities. The website offers a “Find an Attorney” link, which enables you to locate elder law attorneys within a certain distance of your ZIP code. The site also has tips for interviewing and selecting an attorney.
National Legal Resource Center (https://nlrc.acl.gov). Created by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration on Aging, the center is a collaborative project involving several nonprofit organizations known for research, training and advocacy in legal and aging services. The site has listings of select legal service providers by state.
Nassau County Bar Association (www.nassaubar.org). Each month, attorneys provide free Senior Citizen Consultation Clinics—30-minute private consultations to Nassau County residents 65 years of age and over (Call 516-747-4070).
The association also offers a lawyer referral information service (Call 516-747-4832 or email lawyerreferral@nassaubar.org).
Suffolk County Bar Association (www.scba.org). The association offers a lawyer referral and information service.

Nassau-Suffolk Law Services Committee (www.nslawservices.org). This nonprofit agency provides free legal services to low-income residents age 60 and over through its Senior Citizen Law Project. Attorneys handle concerns such as senior benefits and entitlements, advance directives and home ownership. Most cases are handled by telephone. Call 516-292-8088.
The Senior Citizens’ Law Program at Touro Law Center provides free legal advice to Seniors and their families. Call 631-761-7470.
National Legal Resource Center (https://nlrc.acl.gov). Created by the federal Administration on Aging, the center provides access to a coordinated national legal assistance support system in order to strengthen legal assistance/elder rights efforts across the country. The website also offers an online library of resources for caregivers.
